Altitude Club Pool Party is back!

It's back; Vail's greatest pool party returns to the swimming pool deck at Evergreen Lodge at Vail on Sunday, June 26.  Starting at 12 noon everyone is invited to join in the fun.  Make a splash, bring the kids, enjoy burgers, brats and dogs served poolside for $5 or less.  What a great way to end the weekend or start the new week.  There will be games, lounge time and swim time for all.  When the pool party winds down at 5 pm, continue the fun in Altitude Billiards & Sports Club, serving a Happy Hour menu with great drink prices.

Summer Vail, BRAVO Concerts, it doesn't get any better

Oh Boy, summer Vail has arrived and we couldn't be happier!  After a long, wet spring we are so delighted to see an abundance of green; mountain wild flowers are bursting with color.  The creeks and rivers are bubbling and rolling.  The fish are jumping, tennis balls bouncing, golf balls driving toward their goal.  Hikers are enjoying fresh mountain air, runners gasp for one more breath of pure delight.  Summer has arrived!!

TEVA - Excitement, Adventure, Entertainment & Fun

Elite athletes, canine athletes and spectators are gathering in Vail for TEVA MOUNTAIN GAMES June 3 - 6, 2010.  The excitement is building as cars and vans laden with kayaks, bikes, running & fishing gear and dogs flow into Vail in anticipation of four days of whitewater, mountain bike, trail running, bouldering and dock dog competition.  The weather has cooperated with warm sunny days predicted and great whitewater conditions as rivers are running high.

I really enjoy Vail's spring guests!

I had a wonderful opportunity to meet a couple of guests who were taking advantage of the services and expertise at Steadman Clinic, Vail Valley Medical Center and Howard Head Sports Medicine Center next door to the Evergreen Lodge.  Although they know they have weeks and months of hard work ahead of them to get back to the activities they love, they were upbeat and enthusiastic about their experience here.

Spring brings...... snow

Yes, it is snowing.  Feet, not just inches.  But that is good news for kayakers, fishermen, hikers and everyone who will be enjoying summer in Vail.  TEVA mountain games are just around the corner, the water should be high and boiling - adds to the excitement.  The SHAKLEE RACE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT scheduled for the first weekend in May has been rescheduled for June 12 - hoping for more summery weather.  Entries are still open so contact Vail Recreation District at VRD sports: 970-390-8531 if you plan to come.
