A 12-mile, high-altitude obstacle course. Tough Mudder returns to Beaver Creek June 9-10, 2012 and offers exciting spectator opportunities at every turn. Designed by British Special Forces, Tough Mudder is arguably the toughest mud run out there and is meant as a true test of all-around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. (Many obstacles are specifically designed to require teamwork.) Forget your finish time -- simply completing a Tough Mudder is a badge of honor. Truly, not everyone will complete the course, but those who do will be welcomed across the finish line with a free beer and entrance to the Dos Equis Post-Party where teams can recount the challenges of the course as they enjoy live music and classic Beaver Creek chow.
Spectators
Does Tough Mudder look pretty sweet but you’re not quite ready to run it yourself? Do you thirst for photos of the people you care about running through mud, ice water, and 10,000 volts of electricity? Fear not, because spectators are very welcome at Tough Mudder!
In addition to the one-of-a-kind action, you’ll also get to enjoy the Dos Equis Post-Party where we’ll have burgers & beer, a rockin’ band, and thousands of sweaty, athletic Mudders needing a little TLC.
Spectator tickets at the event are $40 (cash-only), but you’ll save 50% when you buy online in advance. Children under 10 are free. Online spectator tickets are available until Friday at noon before each event. There is no charge for hiking the mountain on foot to view your favorite obstacles; but keep in mind, spectator tickets are required for ski lift access, post party access, and the shuttle bus to Red Tail Camp (details below).
For those who have a spectator ticket, several transportation options are available to get you front and center to the various obstacles placed throughout the upper mountain:
- The spectator shuttle will be operating from 9:00am to 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday transporting friends and family from the Covered Bridge in the main village to Red Tail Camp.
- The Buckaroo Express Gondola will be also be open June 9-10 each day, providing unlimited rides and to transport spectators to prime event viewing at The Ranch. A variety of obstacles will be located in and around the area accessed by the gondola and spectators can refuel at The Chuckwagon, which will serve food and refreshments at The Ranch all weekend long.
- In addition, Centennial Express Lift (#6) will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for viewing of obstacles high on the mountain. Spruce Saddle Restaurant’s delicious barbecue fare will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A lift ticket, pass, or Spectator Ticket is still required to ride the Centennial Express Lift. |
